Footfall Attraction - OUR GUIDES TO WHAT’S UNIQUE ABOUT DUN LAOGHAIRE TOWN

We complement our online work promoting the town through practical, on the ground initiatives. Earlier this year we presented the former Cathaoirleach with a walking tour DigitalHQ had created of the town’s murals.

For Heritage Week 2023 we created a family Scavenger Hunt of historical curiosities to highlight how unique our town is and to help attract more visitors to our town.

FOSTERING NETWORKING FOR BUSINESS OWNERS AND RESIDENTS

Our evening Digital Dun Laoghaire meetups take place in the Eblana Club and provide a great focus for discussion and debate around the role of technology, not just in our town but in our society.

Our strategic reports in 2023

To help advance the economic development of our town we created a number of reports containing unique insights and new models for development.

 'Digital First Community' Benchmark 2023

As our contribution to the national Connected Hubs Showcase Day we launched the inaugural ‘Digital First Communities’ benchmark of Dún Laoghaire Town to help provide a model that can promote a place-based approach to winning the battle for the hearts and minds of people in rural localities and urban towns to use the ideas and technologies of the 21st century to take control of their economic destiny for their future prosperity.

5 Heritage-led Vision Projects

For Heritage Week we created a report containing a number of ambitious, long term projects that in most cases are vacant or under-utilised sites, which could build on Dún Laoghaire's strengths to create a vibrant, sustainable locality for current and future generations of businesses and residents.

DigitalHQ's National Impact

Connected Hubs Showcase Day

In April we delivered the inaugural national Connected Hubs Showcase Day. 62 hubs across the country staged events highlighting the benefits of hubs to their local business and social communities. The implementation and rollout of the national event was delivered by the team at DigitalHQ using the model we developed for Ireland’s inaugural Digital First Day.

The DARGAN FORUM

As part of the DLR County Council’s COASTIVAL Festival we staged the DARGAN FORUM. With 26 speakers and over 100 attendees our forum on ‘Digital First Communities’ provided a platform for the ideas and technologies that can help reimagine rural Ireland in the 21st century. The Forum also highlighted Dún Laoghaire’s pioneering history in being the location of the world’s first suburban railway, a technology that exploded from our town in 1834 to bring people and places closer together across Ireland.
